A series of online meetings and webinars will be held with participants of the Youth Day of SPIGF

Due to the rescheduling of St. Petersburg International Gas Forum to 2027, the Youth Day Organizing Committee has decided to continue holding regular online meetings with participants. These sessions aim to maintain communication, facilitate networking among participants, and deepen their knowledge of the energy sector through interactions with industry experts.

In August, a webinar with Tatyana Krylova, expert of MGIMO School of Business and International Proficiency took place. The speaker possesses extensive energy-related research experience, as well as a long track record of professional work and project management at world-renowned energy companies. The lecture covered the history and key aspects of the long-standing energy partnership between BASF – the world’s largest chemical producer (through its oil and gas subsidiary Wintershall / Wintershall Dea) – and the global energy company Gazprom, framing it as example of a classic megaproject. The topic continued the summer webinars held as part of the Virtual Business Lab “Energy Megaprojects. Technology. Ecology. Human Resources” which served as both an educational and a selection stage for the Youth Day of SPIGF.

In September, an online meeting moderated by Natalia Sarakhanova, Academic Director of the Youth Day, was held in order to help the participants get to know each other better. The young people who will be working in teams during the Youth Day had the opportunity to find common ground, discuss their interests, and identify shared values ​​linked to their educational programs. They also selected an existing energy megaproject and imagined the roles they might play in it, the shared goals they would pursue, and the specific skills from their diverse backgrounds that would prove particularly valuable. It is important to note that such networking is no less important than communicating with experts, because all students are unique and come from different background, so their joint, complementary work could lead to interesting collaborations in the future.
